Import and Restore are different operations in ActiveWords. Use Import when you want to add data to your current ActiveWords installation. Use Restore only when you want to replace the current data with a full backup.
Use Import To Add Data
Import inserts ActiveWords data into your current installation without replacing everything already there. Use Import for:
- ActiveWords database files with the
.awdbextension. - ActiveWords backup files with the
.awbakextension. .csvfiles formatted for ActiveWords import.
See Importing External Data for more detail.
Use Restore To Replace Data
Restore is a full replacement operation. Restoring a backup overwrites the ActiveWords data currently installed on that computer.
Note: Restore also overwrites license information. If you restore backup data from another user or computer, ActiveWords may show an invalid license until the correct license is restored.
