Quick Math, Right Where You're Working
Need a fast calculation in the middle of an email or a document? In ActiveWords 5, you don't have to break stride to open a separate calculator app. The Advanced Calculator lives in the ActionPad: type an expression, press Enter, and the result drops in where your cursor is.
From simple to serious
Turn on Advanced Calculator in Options → ActionPad. Expressions that start with a number are evaluated automatically. If an expression starts with a function or constant, type = first so the calculator recognizes it:
25*4→ 1001+2/3+(4*5-10)→ mixed arithmetic=sqrt(16)→ 4=sin(pi/2)→ 1
It handles basic arithmetic plus a wide range of advanced functions, constants, and operators, so the same field that launches your Words can also answer a real math question.
Note: The result isn't shown inside the ActionPad. When you press Enter, it's inserted directly into the app you're working in, such as a document, an email, or Notepad.
